The Scopus Award 2009 stayed in the University of Antioquia
Dr. Ivan Dario Velez, current Director of the Program of the Study and Control of Tropical Diseases –PECET- of the University of Antioquia and President of the Colombian Association of Parasitology and Tropical Medicine, will receive the Scopus Award Colombia 2009, which is granted by the Elsevier editorial with the support of COLCIENCIAS, in recognition of great research work during the last five years, the important number of publications and the citation of these papers.
The Scopus/Colciencias Award is given yearly by the Elsevier Netherlands editorial house (founded in 1880 and taking its name from the Elzevir House, created in 1580) associated with Colciencias. This editorial is leader in the publishing of products and scientific, technological and medical services.
The winners are elected using the Scopus tool, which carries our searches throughout more than 4000 editorials and 386 million websites to detect the most productive scientists. Scopus is a navigation tool that includes the largest collection of abstracts, references and indexes of scientific, technological and medical literature in the world.
